on Representative Democrazy

When these United States were formed as an experiment in democracy, each state joined as an independent experiment in democracy. When the original 13 colonies became the 13 first states, they entered into a competition to see who could do the best job of implementing representational democracy. Some ideas were good enough that the other states began similar programs. However, other ideas were regional, where the utility of every state having the same program was low. In today's nation, it has become popular to pretend that every state needs the same programs. This is unfortunate because this nation wasn't founded to be completely homogeneous, it was founded to be multiple experiments in democracy. This nation needs competition and without it this nation loses what makes it so great.
